Keaton Center

The Keaton Center is a Residential Care Facility II, and is currently licensed by the state of Missouri's Division of Aging and the Department of Mental Health for 24 beds. The facility opened in 1995, has a full complement of staff, a 1 to 6 staff to client ratio and awake staff at night for security and service to the residents. The facility is located near downtown Festus with ease of access to shops, stores and restaurants for residents' convenience.

The primary resident population is comprised of mental health clients with a variety of functioning levels, Numerous psychiatric and social service activities are available to meet the needs of the residents, The staff is comprised of Level II Medication Aides, Residential Aides, Cooks and is managed by a full time Registered Nurse.

Keaton Center is a facility of COMTREA, Inc. The residents have direct access to psychiatric services, individual and group therapy, case management services, psycho social rehabilitation services, community support services and a full complement of other services.

Community integration is encouraged and transportation is provided for resident's activities and outings.

Crisis Stabilization and Intervention
The facility is also the location of the Crisis Stabilization Program for the county. If a resident or community member needs extra supervision to intervene in a crisis situation or to attempt to avert the need for inpatient treatment for psychiatric illness, we have the facilities in the KEATON CENTER to provide care. Once the crisis is handled, we then refer the client to necessary follow up services and return them to their residence. This program is administered by COMTREA as provided by Behavioral Health Response the St. Louis Metro Area crisis access system.
