Crime Victims Advocacy
COMTREA has grant funding provided through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office as well as VOCA (Victim of Crimes Act) to provide counseling services for victims of crime. To be eligible for services, clients must be Jefferson County residents, or be the victim of a crime which occurred in Jefferson County. Treatment is in a brief therapy orientation with focus on reducing mental health symptoms resulting from the crime and support through victim advocacy. Education on the rights of crime victims is an integral part of this program. Counseling is available at both the South and Suburban offices.
