Community Education
As the community mental health center for Jefferson County (DMH Service Area 22), COMTREA will assist the community schools, churches, fraternal and sororital groups who want programs on mental health and substance abuse topics. Hour long presentations are free; workshops can be provided for a fee.
Workshops include:
- Preventing violence in the schools
- Alcoholism and drug addiction, what it is
- Teaching children of divorce
- Seven Habits of Highly Effective People© (for not-for-profit organizations only)
- Principle Center Leadership© (for not-for-profit organizations only)
- Motivation in the classroom
- Stress management
- Sexual harassment (for students; for businesses, for general public)
- Time management (for students; for individuals, for businesses)
- Presentation skills
- Dealing with classroom conflict
- Effective team building for businesses
- Performance appraisal
