"A Safe Place", is our shelter for abused or unstable women, and their children.
The shelter is located in an undisclosed area for safety. Domestic services are
provided through COMTREA at several locations, based on individual need.
Outpatient therapy services are available at our South and Suburban
offices. Women who are in need of a safe place to live while reorganizing
their living conditions, can come to our shelter for a period of 45 days. During their
stay at "A Safe Place", clients receive individual and group therapy, including
educational groups to learn more about domestic violence. Services offered
to the women at he shelter also include:
- Finding a new place of residency
- Obtaining employment
- Schooling and education
- Government help such as food stamps, etc.
- Locating furniture and clothing
Children are welcome at the shelter, however boys need to be 12 years of age
or younger. They are also with therapy and educational services. School aged
children are enrolled in local schools. For more information about "A Safe Place",
