Jefferson County residents who are experiencing a serious and persistent mental illness may receive outpatient psychiatric rehabilitation services from our accredited program. These programs can help them cope with and manage their illnesses and live productive lives in the community. Specialized services include but are not limited to:
- Psychiatric services
- Medication monitoring
- Intensive, in-home case management
- Office-based case management services
- Psychosocial rehabilitation (day treatment program)
- Housing supports
- Pre employment supports
- Resources, referrals, and advocacy
- Referrals to primary care from our Health Center, Byrnes Mill Health Center - A Division of COMTREA
Our trained staff of professionals and paraprofessionals will work with you to provide educational information about the illness, the medications that are prescribed to address the symptoms, coping skills, stress management and communication skills. They will assist with advocacy and support to improve daily living skills and levels of independence as well self sufficiency. Psychosocial rehabilitation programming to address the whole person is also available. Our trained staff include: board-certified psychiatrists, advanced practice nurses, registered nursing staff, licensed social work and counseling professionals and other paraprofessionals trained intensively to address and meet the needs of those persons with a serious and persistent mental illness.
Psychiatric Evaluation, Therapy & Medication Monitoring
Mental health services are available for adults experiencing problems that interfere with daily life, such as depression, panic and anxiety, phobias, impulsivity, trauma, stress and the consequences of chronic physical illness as well as the treatment of severe and persistent mental illness.
These services include:
- Psychiatric evaluation
- Individual and group therapy/counseling
- Group psycho education
- Case management
- Intensive, in-home community support services
- Medication and medication management
- Information, education and referrals on prevention, treatment and wellness for individuals, families, caregivers and other community agencies
